About The Position

Operates and maintains Central Energy Plant machinery to attain maximum comfort levels and a stable supply of all utilities in all public buildings connected to the plants, while maximizing efficiency and emergency readiness. Provides advanced technical support to other plant personnel in troubleshooting & repair operations.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree or Equivalent Experience
  • Related Field - 2 years of experience
  • Boiler Operator License - Arkansas Department of Labor Boiler Operator's License Division

Nice To Haves

  • Faclities - Direct_1 year hospital specific Central Energy Plant operation experience
  • Industrial Maintenance Electrician (License) - Arkansas Board of Electrical Examiners
  • Universal Technician Certification - EPA - Environmental Protection Agency (EPA)

Responsibilities

  • Ensures all Plant machinery is operating within design specs and takes appropriate action if not. Continuously monitors local indicators and building automation system to ensure proper operation of machinery and a stable supply of utilities.
  • Maintains detailed mechanical and electrical knowledge of all plant machinery and associated systems, continuously updates their knowledge and education about all newly purchased equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge of and practices all plant safety procedures. Understands the purpose and use of personal protection equipment.
  • Understands and has the ability to operate and maintain the following special purpose systems: Fire Alarm, Fire Sprinkler, Medical Air, Medical Gas, Medical Vacuum, Emergency Generation and Switchgear, Remote Generator Monitors and Remote Boiler Monitors.
  • Conducts intermediate inspections, repairs, and preventive maintenance on machinery in accordance with preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Ability to use tools, diagnostic test equipment; read and understand mechanical and electrical plans and schematics; set-up and correctly operate indicating tools for shaft alignment; understand ladder logic and diagnose problems associated with programmable logic.
  • Possesses knowledge of all emergency response procedures for all plant equipment/utilities and demonstrates the ability to carry out those procedures. Maintains our emergency power systems readiness at all times.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
