This position operates all campus heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment, including boilers, steam absorption and centrifugal chillers, cooling towers, fans, pumps, and systems. The role focuses on optimizing efficiency, safety, and occupant comfort according to department policies and procedures. The Stationary Engineer II also maintains accurate records, utilizes the Building Automation System (BAS) for monitoring and control, responds to alarms, and performs preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on HVAC and other equipment. Additionally, the role involves routine general maintenance such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and building systems. The position requires responding to service calls and work orders to maintain a safe and efficient environment, documenting all tasks in the CMMS, and reading blueprints and maintenance manuals.
