About The Position

JLL is seeking an experienced Commercial HVAC Mechanic to support the operation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC systems within client facilities. In this role, you will help ensure building systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably while delivering a high level of service to occupants and stakeholders. The position requires strong technical expertise in commercial HVAC equipment, troubleshooting capabilities, and the ability to manage preventive maintenance and emergency repair activities in a fast-paced facilities management environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • This position is represented by IUOE Local 465. Candidates must either be current union members or be willing and able to join the union within 90 days of employment as a condition of hire.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience working with commercial HVAC systems.
  • EPA Universal Certification required.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC equipment including chillers, boilers, and building automation systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Proficiency using HVAC diagnostic tools, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methods.

Nice To Haves

  • NATE Certification or HVAC Excellence Certification, or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Experience working in commercial facilities management or property operations environments.
  • Familiarity with building automation and energy management systems.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Experience maintaining accurate maintenance and compliance documentation.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in confined spaces, at heights, and in varying weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on commercial HVAC systems including chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air handling units, rooftop units, and related equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control system issues to restore equipment functionality.
  • Monitor, adjust, and maintain building automation systems to optimize building performance and energy efficiency.
  • Respond to service requests and emergency repair calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Conduct routine inspections of HVAC equipment and identify opportunities for operational improvements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, service documentation, and compliance reports.
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to support maintenance projects and operational needs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to support after-hours and emergency service requirements.
