Under the direction of the chief engineer, this person is responsible for shift coverage in plant operations. Some minor maintenance responsibilities are required. This role involves conducting interactions with everyone in a friendly, courteous, and respectful manner, going out of his/her way to offer assistance, and advocating to ensure privacy and confidentiality. The position also requires maintaining a clean and safe hospital, responding appropriately and immediately in emergency situations, and ensuring a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and/or staff to provide the highest level of physical comfort and minimize risk and injury. Compliance with regulations to maintain accreditation and licensure, as well as the Hospital Attendance and Tardiness Policy, is mandatory. All employees are responsible for actively engaging in hand hygiene practices. This role also involves removing safety hazards, maintaining boiler plant equipment to meet OSHA requirements, performing routine painting on piping for color coding, reviewing logs and making recommendations, reviewing equipment during maintenance, and completing corrective and preventive work orders daily and monthly, respectively. Documentation must be completed so that the supervisor receives 100% of daily reports. The employee must also respond appropriately to utility failures.
