About The Position

The Station QHS Manager is responsible for driving compliance to QHS policies, programs, and initiatives to improve the quality of processes and services. This role aids operations in evaluating current processes to identify areas for improvement, acting as the site's subject matter expert and liaison for the Crane Worldwide Quality Management System and external standards (ISO & GDP). The manager will establish quality improvement project teams, lead the business in quality management, and develop new tools and methods for quality improvement. Additionally, this role defines standard operating procedures, ensures adherence to documented procedures, and acts as the site's subject matter expert for the Crane Safety Program, ensuring compliance with local safety regulations. The manager will promote compliance with Crane's global policy for Safety Committees, collaborate on local safety training, equipment maintenance, and forklift training, and maintain training documentation via Crane's LMS. Development of site emergency response plans and coordination with vendors for emergency response events are also key responsibilities. The role ensures dangerous goods regulatory compliance and adherence to company hazardous materials policies, maintains a non-conforming commodities list, and coordinates with Corporate QHSE and the Global Hazardous Materials Manager to ensure personnel are trained and comply with Crane's Global Dangerous Goods Policy. All incidents within the site must be reported and investigated per company policy. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience with Safety in logistics, warehousing and/or transportation.
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory or managerial experience required.

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in safety management, quality management or related field is preferred.
  • Total Quality Management or Six Sigma certification is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Drive compliance to QHS policies, programs and initiatives to improve the quality of processes and services.
  • Aid operations in the evaluation of current processes at the Site to determine areas of improvement in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Act as the Site’s subject matter expert and liaison for the Crane Worldwide Quality Management System as well as external standards (including, but not limited to, ISO & GDP standards).
  • Establish quality improvement project teams and oversee progress and results within the Site.
  • Lead the business in quality management & be a reliable subject matter expert in ISO standards and certification processes.
  • Develop new and advanced tools, methods and systems to ensure quality improvement throughout the organization.
  • Define standard operating procedures and ensures adherence to documented procedures.
  • Act as the Site’s subject matter expert and acts as a liaison for the Crane Safety Program as well as ensure compliance to all local safety regulations.
  • Promote and drive compliance to Crane’s global policy for Safety Committees within the Site.
  • Collaborate with Global QHSE Director to establish local safety training, equipment maintenance and forklift training.
  • Actively maintain training documentation for all QHSE programs via Crane’s LMS.
  • Develop site emergency response plans.
  • Coordinate with site vendors appropriate emergency response events.
  • Ensure Dangerous goods regulatory compliance and compliance to company hazardous materials policies and procedures.
  • Maintain non-conforming commodities list.
  • Coordinate with Corporate QHSE and the Global Hazardous Materials Manager to ensure personnel in Site are properly trained and comply with Crane’s Global Dangerous Goods Policy.
  • Ensure any/all incidents within Site are reported timely and investigated per company policy.
