About The Position

The Station Manager is responsible for ensuring day-to-day operations are conducted in a safe and financially sound manner. This role involves supervising assigned station personnel, maintaining customer service standards, operating within budget projections, and conducting local sales calls. The manager is also responsible for hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining, and conducting annual evaluations for station personnel, as well as enacting policies and procedures. Key duties include ensuring contract ground services meet terms, managing relationships and cargo management in accordance with airline contracts, and ensuring all required personnel training is accomplished and current. The role also requires conducting monthly safety meetings, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, and overseeing the proper maintenance of plant and ground service equipment. Additionally, the manager must ensure compliance with USPS procedures, oversee shipping and receiving of COMAT, and submit all station-related reports and records within established timelines. For specific stations (Nome, Emmonak, and Aniak), additional responsibilities include monthly reporting for mainline contract turns, serving as the primary training and safety coordinator for mainline contract airlines, and enforcing cargo handling security. The manager is expected to conduct all activities as part of the Ryan Air management team and perform other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Good computer skills.
  • Travel to villages, Anchorage and other locations is required.
  • Graduate of high school or equivalent.
  • This position is very active and may require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing up to 8 – 10 hours a day.
  • Requires frequent and routine lifting or moving items weighing over 70 pounds.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Must be able to pass a ten year security background check for airport badging (for Anchorage, Nome, Kotzebue and Bethel Stations).

Responsibilities

  • Supervising assigned station personnel.
  • Maintaining Ryan Air customer service standards.
  • Operating station within annual budget projections.
  • Conducting local sales calls with established business entities.
  • Hiring, training, scheduling, disciplining and conducting annual evaluations for all assigned station personnel.
  • Enacting policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring that all contract ground services are provided within the terms of the contracts.
  • Managing relationships, customer service standards, and cargo management requirements in accordance with mainline cargo airline contracts.
  • Ensuring that all required station personnel training is accomplished and current, including ground service contract training.
  • Ensuring that monthly safety meetings are conducted.
  • Ensuring compliance with Federal, State and local laws and regulations.
  • Ensure that proper maintenance of plant and ground service equipment is consistent with Company standards.
  • Ensures that all USPS procedures, outlined in the USPS 508 manual, are met.
  • Oversees shipping and receiving of all Company Material (COMAT) are met or exceeded.
  • Responsible for submitting all station-related reports and records within established timelines.
  • Hires and trains village agents.
  • Ensures that ramp, mail and freight storage areas are defined and maintained.
  • Conducts all activities as a part of the Ryan Air management team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure monthly reporting is completed for mainline contract turns (for Nome, Emmonak, and Aniak Stations).
  • Serve as primary training and safety coordinator of mainline contract airlines (for Nome, Emmonak, and Aniak Stations).
  • Enforce cargo handling security inline with mainline airline security policies (for Nome, Emmonak, and Aniak Stations).
