Perform all types of work involved in the construction, maintenance, rebuild, removal, operation, testing and inspection of energized or de-energized generation, transmission and distribution facilities. Assist in responding to emergency call-outs on station trouble and coordinating prompt restoration of service to customers as required. This role involves working on energized equipment up to 260 volts, and after six months, assisting with voltages above 750 volts under supervision. The position requires selecting and understanding prints/drawings, using various test equipment, and performing maintenance and repairs on station equipment like transformers, circuit breakers, and rotating machinery. Responsibilities also include installing conduit, pipe, cable, and wire, digging trenches, climbing structures, and applying insulating materials. The role involves making visual inspections, reading gauges, performing tests on generators and pumps, reporting abnormal conditions, and replacing components like lamps and switches. Assisting with oil sample tests, electrical tests (TTR, Doble, core megger), and station switching procedures, including placing grounds, is also part of the job. Proficiency in steel and aerial lift rescue, maintaining records, preparing reports, and participating in training are essential. The employee will use and operate various company vehicles, specialized equipment, and hand/power tools, including cranes and aerial lifts. Knowledge of knots used in station work and performing similar or less skilled work as assigned is expected. The role also requires assisting and directing the work of other employees and adhering to the Company's safety rules and operating regulations.
