About The Position

Fairmont San Francisco, a landmark hotel with a rich history since 1907, is seeking a Station Cook. This role involves assisting in the preparation and service of food items for various menus, maintaining high standards of quality and presentation, and contributing to a positive and efficient kitchen environment. The hotel is located at 950 Mason Street, San Francisco.

Requirements

• In possession of a Food Handlers Certificate
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Must have proof of eligibility to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

• 3 years or previous experience in the culinary field is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, friendly and proactive guest service while supporting fellow Colleagues.
• Assist in the preparation and service of all food items for a la carte and/or buffet menus according to hotel recipes and standards
• Actively share ideas, opinions and suggestions in daily shift briefings
• Maintain proper rotation of product in all chillers to minimize waste/spoilage
• Ensure storeroom requisitions are accurate
• Ensure the cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils, and equipment
• Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
• Follow kitchen policies, procedures and service standards
• Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
• Other duties as assigned
