About The Position

The Michigan Afterschool Partnership (MASP) advocates for equitable systems that support and expand quality out-of-school time (OST) experiences for all youth in the state. We are seeking a Statewide Quality Coach to help strengthen Michigan’s 32n OST Grant Programs through technical assistance, professional development and continuous quality improvement cycles. Statewide Quality Coaches ensures that MASP supports the 32n OST grantees in advancing program quality and continuous improvement efforts. This role will work directly with multiple youth serving organizations. They will act as each organization guide on the side through the school year and summer. Coaching will consist of building strong relationships with OST programs/partners and supporting them in meeting their internally created program goals based on observational data. This is a remote position, with travel and in-person meetings required. This role is funded through a grant and is dependent on annual grant allocations.

Requirements

At least 3 years of experience in community engagement, coalition-building, network leadership, or cross-sector partnership development.
Experience working within the OST, youth development, education, community development, or related sectors.
Demonstrated ability to build trust, facilitate collaboration, and navigate complex stakeholder environments.
Experience convening groups, facilitating meetings, and supporting collaborative planning processes.
Experience supporting youth involvement.
Deep understanding of OST ecosystems, youth development principles, community engagement practices, and systems change.
Strong understanding of cross-functional team dynamics, with the ability to foster interdepartmental collaboration and strategic alignment.
Skilled facilitator, coalition-builder, and network strategist.
Commitment to equity and expanding OST access for Michigan youth.
Willingness, availability, and ability to travel statewide and nationally, as needed.

Responsibilities

Establish and sustain transformational, trust-based relationships with 32n OST grantee organizations.
Maintain consistent communication with grantees to share relevant network information, resources, events, and opportunities. Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned grantees, providing responsive communication, guidance, and support.
Track grantee engagement and identify opportunities to strengthen participation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Document grantee interactions and provide regular updates on relationship-building activities, emerging needs, successes, and trends.
Implement the Youth Program Quality Intervention (YPQI) process with grantees to strengthen program practices.
Facilitate and support data-informed coaching and professional learning by meeting with grantees to review data and support the assess–plan–improve process.
Maintain accurate and current tracking of grantee data and progress (Maintain accurate and timely documentation of coaching activities, program observations, grantee progress, and required reporting.)
Analyze data and identify trends to inform coaching strategies, program improvement, and statewide quality initiatives.
Contribute to the development of reports, presentations, and other materials that communicate program outcomes and impact.
Share progress updates, insights, and recommendations with the Quality Team to support collaborative planning and continuous improvement efforts.
Participate in bi-weekly coordination meetings with Quality Coaches to align on statewide coaching efforts and share learnings.
Collaborate with other Quality Team members and MiLEAP partners to support monthly grantee meetings and related learning sessions.
Assist, as needed, in the coordination or facilitation of workshops, events, or communities of practice designed to support grantee development and peer learning.
Support the development and delivery of workshops, coaching events, and learning experiences that promote high-quality OST programming.
Attend OST Grant Statewide meetings
Contribute to the evaluation and enhancement of coaching tools, training materials, and quality improvement resources.
Develop and maintain annual work plans, schedules, and coaching calendars to ensure consistent support for assigned grantees.
Support MASP’s Director of Quality Capacity Building with additional quality improvement initiatives and special projects as needed.
Attend conferences, meetings, and other professional events to stay informed on emerging OST sector trends, tools, and promising practices.
Perform other duties as needed and assigned.
