About The Position

This position is for a Statewide Facility Assessment Administrator within the Office of School Facilities team at the Oregon Department of Education (ODE). It is a permanent, full-time, non-exempt position represented by the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). The role follows a hybrid work model, requiring onsite presence for business needs and travel to districts for site visits and audits. A driver's license, acceptable driving record, and personal vehicle or alternative transportation are required. Remote work requires a reliable internet connection and a professional work environment. The position administers and oversees Oregon's statewide school facility assessment program, managing contracts with third-party assessors, establishing standards, ensuring data integrity, and using assessment information for policy and funding decisions. It serves as the lead contract administrator, responsible for developing, procuring, and managing contracts for facility condition data collection. The role involves providing technical guidance, monitoring contract performance, managing funding, and overseeing procurement and renewals. The position also administers the competitive contracting process and recommends program improvements. This is a unique opportunity to work with the first statewide school facilities assessment in Oregon's history, helping to direct the program and shape data-informed policy decisions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Business or Public Administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and four years experience coordinating or administering a program
  • Any combination of experience or education equivalent to seven years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification.
  • A driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, a personal vehicle, or an alternative means of transportation.
  • A reliable and secure internet connection (for remote work).

  • Contract Administration Experience: Demonstrated experience developing, administering, monitoring, or evaluating contracts, procurement processes, and vendor performance.
  • Data Quality and Analysis Skills: Demonstrated experience reviewing, validating, correcting, integrating, or analyzing program data for accuracy, consistency, and usefulness.
  • Technical Assistance and Stakeholder Support: Ability to provide clear guidance, training, consultation, and technical assistance to districts, contractors, public agencies, or external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Administer and oversee Oregon's statewide school facility assessment program.
