About The Position

American Fleet Service, Inc. is seeking experienced Diesel Truck Technicians for a State Inspector position. This role involves identifying repair and sales opportunities, performing diagnostics and repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks and trailers, including electrical systems, engines, suspension, brakes, after-treatment systems, and A/C. The position also requires conducting State and Federal DOT Inspections. The company has been in business for 18 years and is an independent truck and trailer shop located in Portsmouth, Virginia, offering a supportive and friendly environment.

Requirements

• Valid driver's license
• State Inspection License
• Your own tools (Large tools and diagnostic tools are supplied by the company)
• Reliable transportation

• ASE Certifications
• EPA609 A/C Certification

Responsibilities

• Identify repair/sales opportunities
• Light to Heavy Duty electrical diagnostics
• Engine diagnostic and repairs
• Suspension and brake diagnostic and repairs
• Light welding repairs as needed
• After Treatment diagnostic and repair
• A/C diagnostic and repair
• State and Federal DOT Inspections
