About The Position

Nuevo Field Campaigns is a 100% minority-owned firm specializing in direct voter contact programs for Democratic campaigns, organizations, advocacy groups, and committees. We build and execute culturally competent field programs that engage communities, move voters to action, and deliver measurable results. Our programs have mobilized hundreds of canvassers across the country, knocked millions of doors, registered voters, cured ballots, collected signatures, and supported winning campaigns at the local, state, and federal levels. Nuevo Field Campaigns is seeking an experienced, driven, and highly organized State Director to lead the execution and day-to-day management of field programs within an assigned state through the 2026 election cycle. The State Director will oversee all in-state operations, including paid canvassing, voter registration, ballot cure, signature collection, GOTV, and issue advocacy programs. Working closely with the National Field Director and company leadership, this position will ensure programs are executed on time, on budget, and at the highest quality standards while serving as the primary operational leader within their assigned state. Remote work may be considered on a case-by-case basis. Preference will be given to candidates whose residence is in one of our program locations.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of campaign, advocacy, labor, or community organizing experience.
  • At least one election cycle managing paid field programs or organizing operations.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing.
  • Demonstrated success managing voter contact programs including: Paid Canvassing, Voter Registration, Ballot Cure, Signature Collection, GOTV Operations
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing budgets and operational logistics.
  • Ability to travel extensively and work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to rent and operate vehicles for program needs.

Nice To Haves

  • Managing statewide field operations.
  • Bilingual Spanish-English proficiency.
  • Familiarity with VAN, PDI, Scale to Win, Mobilize, Slack, Google Workspace, and field reporting platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, launch, and execution of field programs throughout an assigned state.
  • Develop regional field plans, staffing structures, timelines, and performance benchmarks.
  • Monitor daily program goals, productivity, quality control, and voter contact metrics.
  • Ensure compliance with campaign, labor, and organizational requirements.
  • Provide regular reporting and operational updates to the National Field Director and company leadership.
  • Coordinate multiple simultaneous projects within the state while maintaining consistent quality and execution.
  • Recruit, hire, train, and supervise Regional Organizers, Field Managers, and canvassing staff.
  • Build diverse, community-based organizing teams reflective of the communities being engaged.
  • Develop training materials and conduct onboarding for field leadership.
  • Coach, mentor, and evaluate staff performance while fostering professional development and retention.
  • Serve as the primary operational contact for assigned clients, campaign managers, consultants, and coalition partners within the state.
  • Participate in strategic planning discussions and provide recommendations based on field performance and voter contact data.
  • Deliver regular reports, presentations, and program updates to clients and company leadership.
  • Oversee field office operations, event logistics, materials distribution, and technology implementation.
  • Manage field reporting systems, quality control, data collection, and compliance processes.
  • Coordinate closely with HR, payroll, compliance, and operations teams to support efficient program delivery.
  • Travel extensively throughout the assigned state to launch programs, train staff, conduct quality control, and resolve operational challenges.
  • Provide direct leadership during critical program periods including voter registration deadlines, early vote, ballot cure, and GOTV.

Benefits

  • Compensation will be determined based on experience, qualifications, scope of responsibility, and the geographic market in which the employee is based. Salaries may vary by location to reflect regional labor market conditions. Monthly compensation is expected to range from $6,500 to $7,500 . For contract-based candidates, compensation may be structured as a monthly retainer or project-based agreement, depending on experience and program responsibilities.
