About The Position

RSM interns work with large and small companies across various industries, developing client relationships by understanding clients’ businesses and challenges. Interns work on multiple team engagements each year and contribute to several parts of assignments. They work in a mutually respectful team environment that supports strong performance and integration of work with personal life. This internship focuses on state and local income franchise tax services. Interns help integrate tax services with existing clients, complete tax planning and research, learn relevant state and local tax regulations and accounting pronouncements, review tax processes for inefficiencies and potential exposure, analyze historical purchasing and sales data for reporting, audit, refund, or credit opportunities, and assist with selecting and implementing sales/use tax software. Travel to assigned client locations is required. RSM describes its typical workstyle as hybrid for most roles, with employees aligned to an office and meeting in person when useful for client work, teams, development, or relationship-building.
