This position functions as an administrative manager within the Office of Performance Management (OPM). As a leader with expertise in continuous improvement, the administrative manager leading the process improvement work area is responsible for carrying out management duties for assigned staff, including employee evaluation, coaching, counseling, selection, provision of technical and policy guidance, training and mentoring. The manager is responsible for providing direction and control of continuous improvement functions and activities in the work area including establishing priorities, allocating staff, and handling administrative and planning functions. This position requires a high degree of subject matter expertise, adaptability, and the ability to work well with a diverse range of individuals. This position also requires strong leadership and decision-making skills, and excellent time management. Considerable knowledge of the principles and techniques of administrative management, supervision, communication, planning, organization, and reporting are also required. The Department of Technology, Management and Budget supports the business operations of state agencies through a variety of services, including building management and maintenance, information technology, centralized contracting and procurement, budget and financial management, space planning and leasing, construction management, motor vehicle fleet operations, and oversight of the state retirement systems.
