About The Position

The Ohio Office of Budget and Management (OBM) is the fiscal backbone of the State of Ohio enterprise. OBM works with the Governor and every state agency in providing policy analysis, fiscal research, and financial management services. We help state agencies shape Ohio’s future by ensuring the proper and responsible use of state resources! The Revenue Accounting role is responsible for safeguarding the accuracy of agency cash activity and ensuring timely access to funds across the enterprise. This position reviews and approves deposit modifications, executes redistribution of revenue holdings (RHRs), and processes spreadsheet journals to maintain correct chartfield coding. It also reviews, enters, and/or approves transactions submitted through the Director Memo Portal and maintains the revenue reconciliation between OAKS and the Treasurer of State. The work directly supports cash reconciliation, enables agencies to operate normally, and underpins a successful year-end close.

Requirements

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in accounting, business administration, finance or related field
  • 24 months experience in government accounting or fiscal position
  • 24 months experience as State Accounting Financial Analyst 2, 62212
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above

  • Successful completion of the Fiscal Academy may be substituted for 4 mos. of required government accounting experience reference in this portion of the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews, analyzes, & approves revenue modifications.
  • Reviews, verifies, & inputs corrections & posts payroll journals.
  • Reviews & approves spreadsheet journals.
  • Inputs necessary revenue documents (RHRs & state surplus sales).
  • Reviews and monitors various revenue reports to ensure revenue documents are processed in a timely manner and in compliance with OBM policy.
