About The Position

SHINE Technologies is seeking a Startup Director to oversee the planning and execution of facility startup activities at a new isotope production facility in Janesville, Wisconsin. The first-of-a-kind NRC-regulated nuclear facility is under construction, with construction testing in progress. The Director will develop strategies and plans, coordinate activities, complete required testing and validation for startup surveillance requirements, and transition the facility to regular operations. This role ends when the facility startup transition to normal plant operations is complete, which is expected in 2031. The employee may apply for other available roles at SHINE at that time. The base salary range is $250,000–$300,000 per year, plus a comprehensive compensation package. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The position may require non-standard work hours and shift work, including nights and weekends, periodically, rotationally, or on an ongoing basis. The work involves moderate physical activity and frequent leaning, bending, stooping, crouching, grasping, and reaching above the shoulders and below the knees. It may require handling objects weighing up to 40 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four hours per day. Fine motor coordination and strong depth perception are beneficial. The work environment includes moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and loud noises, as well as some exposure to hazards or physical risks requiring basic safety precautions. Employees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position; reasonable accommodation will be made upon request absent undue hardship. Employment eligibility is conditioned on the applicant’s ability to qualify for access to information subject to U.S. Export Controls. Eligibility may also depend on meeting NRC requirements for access to Safeguards Information, typically involving a pre-employment drug screen, fingerprinting, and criminal background check. SHINE values diversity and maintains affirmative action plans for individuals with disabilities and protected veterans. Qualified applicants receive consideration without regard to protected status.
