About The Position

This role involves greeting golfers, facilitating the start of play, and enforcing the rules of golf on the course. The Course Advisor ensures pace of play standards are maintained and assists players with weather-appropriate services. They also manage non-playing traffic on the course and provide guidance on special circumstances recommended for play. Additional duties include assisting with bunker raking, spotting golf balls, setting up the practice facility, maintaining on-course amenities, marking courses, assisting with golf cart maintenance, keeping accurate records of play, maintaining putting and chipping green areas, and assisting players with club cleaning. The role also involves maintaining the practice facility through setup, ball stacking, and ball picking.

Requirements

  • Familiar with rules of golf.
  • Must be able to work in varying weather conditions, from extreme heat to cold based on the season.
  • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time (minimum of 2 hours at a time).
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must have conflict resolution experience.

Responsibilities

  • Greets golfers at first/ tenth tee, and practice facility facilitating the start of play.
  • Enforces the rules of play on golf course (example: cart path rule).
  • Ensures that pace of play standards are maintained.
  • Assists players on course with weather appropriate services.
  • Keeps non-playing traffic off of the course (children, dogs, etc.).
  • May direct golfers as to special circumstances that golf maintenance recommends for play.
  • Assists groups with raking of bunkers, spotting of golf balls, and other related services.
  • Assists with setting up of practice facility prior to start of play.
  • Maintains amenity and sanitation standards for on-course water coolers.
  • Marks courses, which involves walking lengthy areas of course with various slopes.
  • Periodically assists staff with maintenance of golf carts including the changing of tires.
  • Keep accurate records of play.
  • Maintain the putting and chipping green areas.
  • Assists players cleaning clubs while at the practice facility.
  • Assist maintaining the practice facility by set up, stacking balls and picking
