About The Position

The Starbucks Manager ensures success by leading a team to create and maintain the Starbucks experience for our guests and team members. This position requires regular and customary exercise of discretion in managing the overall operation of the location, including supervising and directing the workforce, making staffing decisions, ensuring guest satisfaction and product quality, managing the store's financial performance, and managing safety and security. The manager is responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Starbucks and The United Family guiding principles.

Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of management/supervisor experience.
  • Ability to manage store operations independently.
  • Ability to manage resources to ensure established service levels are achieved.
  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. and stand for long periods of time (up to 4 hours).
  • Perform all other physical aspects of the job including bending, squatting, lifting, climbing, and walking.
  • Must be able to work in a fast, efficient and controlled manner.
  • Must maintain Certified Food Safety Manager certification.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to function as a team member and get along with others.

Responsibilities

  • Acknowledge, greet, and engage guests entering the area or department.
  • Demonstrate a calm demeanor during high-volume periods or unusual events and manage smooth transitions.
  • Drive the implementation of company programs by developing action plans and motivating the store team.
  • Plan, identify, communicate, and delegate responsibilities and practices to team members for smooth operations.
  • Review location environment and key business indicators to identify problems, concerns, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Utilize existing tools to identify and prioritize communications and filter them to the store team.
  • Utilize and demonstrate effective management principles and practices to create and maintain a successful store team.
  • Ensure team members and partners adhere to legal and operational compliance requirements.
  • Perform other duties as requested or required by management.
