About The Position

The Starbucks Barista sells and prepares Starbucks coffee beverages according to Starbucks standards, providing caring hospitality and exceptional customer service through product knowledge. The role includes preparing and presenting food and beverages to Starbucks recipes and service standards, maintaining stations and equipment, and supporting an inclusive, respectful environment for colleagues and customers. This is a seasonal position at Macy’s Promenade Bolingbrook. Schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret instructional documents, including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods; reach, crouch, kneel, and stoop; frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and a cash register; process register transactions; and frequently lift or move up to 25 pounds.

Nice To Haves

1–2 years of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Demonstrate working knowledge of drip coffee, cold beverage, espresso bar, and pastry stations.
Maintain the work area and equipment according to company standards and Health Department standards.
Follow Starbucks Simple Service Steps and Magic Selling skills to provide an exceptional customer experience.
Educate customers about products, offer samples, and serve food and beverages.
Perform station-specific duties and responsibilities.
Open or close the area using the appropriate checklist and verify completion with the Manager on Duty before leaving.
Maintain PAR stock levels and product presentation standards.
Prepare and present products according to Starbucks recipes while meeting speed-of-service standards.
Follow Starbucks merchandising and signing standards.
Maintain personal hygiene and professional dress in accordance with company, Starbucks, and Health Department standards.
Perform other duties as needed.
