About The Position

The Stanley Black & Decker Leadership Development Program (SLP) is a high-profile rotational program intended to accelerate the development of future leaders. It is geared toward recent graduates with engineering internship experience and an applicable business degree who are interested in a long-term engineering career. Engineering SLP participants complete three eight-month rotations in Engineering, Product Management, and Operations at different facilities across the United States. Rotations include project assignments that introduce participants to the business and allow them to contribute to each facility. Work assignments, projects, and teams change every eight months; relocation for at least one rotation may be required, and relocation assistance is available. The role begins in a hybrid arrangement in Towson, Maryland. As part of the Engineering team, the participant designs and develops electronic firmware and specifications for power tools, including brushless DC motor controls, lithium-ion battery management systems, and battery chargers. The role includes implementing and validating electronic designs through software development, testing, and simulation; creating software verification and validation procedures; contributing to cost, performance, and quality objectives; resolving electronic systems issues with a larger team; documenting work; translating customer requirements into software specifications; and collaborating across functions.
