About The Position

At Rack Electric, our generator service division is growing fast. As a Standby Power Systems Field Technician, you’ll keep residential and commercial customers powered up by maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing their generators and related controls. A day in the life: You start by reviewing your paperless route in our CRM, then roll out in a service vehicle to perform bi-annual maintenance visits. Between stops, you diagnose operational issues, fine-tune monitoring equipment, and advise customers on ATS, load shedding, and surge protection. One week at a time, you’re the on-call pro customers rely on when emergencies hit.

Requirements

Professional, neat appearance; well-spoken, polite, and detail oriented.
Solid mechanical background; technical aptitude is a must.
Electrical experience is a strong plus; familiarity with ATS, load shedding, and surge protection is a great advantage.
Self-driven and motivated with a methodical approach; follows company procedures.
Basic electrical and plumbing tools with testing equipment.
Willingness to be cross-trained across company divisions.
Comfort working in extreme conditions including heat, wind, and rain.
Ability to lift up to 70 lbs on rare occasions and to bend, stoop, squat, and kneel for extended periods.
Clean Driver’s License (license will be run prior to interview).

Nice To Haves

Generator experience is a huge plus; training on basic generator features and benefits is provided.

Responsibilities

Complete residential and commercial bi-annual maintenance on a set daily schedule.
Install and service remote monitoring equipment for generators.
Troubleshoot operational issues on generators and related equipment.
Perform routine service and preventive maintenance.
Work paper-free using our CRM platform to manage work orders and documentation.
Participate in the on-call rotation for emergency calls (one week at a time).
