About The Position

VTG is seeking a Standards Engineer to support technical standards development efforts in Fredericksburg, VA. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of wireless and packet data networks, along with hands-on experience participating in industry standards organizations, to help shape technical contributions on behalf of the program.

Requirements

• Must be a US Citizen with a Top Secret clearance.
• BA/BS degree in an applicable field, or eight (8) years of relevant experience
• In-depth technical knowledge and experience with wireless and packet data networks, including GPRS, HSPA, UMTS, LTE, CDMA2000, IMS, IP, SIP, and RTP
• Practical experience attending and developing contributions within industry lawful intercept standards organizations, such as: European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), Third Generation Partnership Project (3GPP), 3GPP2, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Alliance for Telecommunications Industry Solutions (ATIS), Cloud Services Forum (CSF)
• Active Top Secret clearance

Responsibilities

• Develop and attend domestic and international standards-based meetings, including carrier-specific meetings
• Participate in conference calls to provide technical expertise and recommendations
• Support the development and submission of technical contributions for the program
