Review television, radio, digital, and social media content for compliance with editorial standards, organizational policies, and applicable regulations. Assist in evaluating content for accuracy, fairness, balance, taste, decency, and potential legal concerns. Support the review of scripts, captions, graphics, promotions, and multimedia content before broadcast or publication. Identify potential compliance issues and elevate concerns to senior standards and practices personnel. Maintain records of content reviews, approvals, and compliance findings. Research regulatory requirements, industry standards, and emerging issues affecting broadcast content. Collaborate with producers, editors, reporters, and digital teams to resolve content compliance concerns. Assist with ensuring adherence to copyright, licensing, and intellectual property requirements. Monitor content for consistency with organizational brand, editorial, and ethical standards. Participate in developing and updating standards, procedures, and compliance guidance materials. Support investigations and documentation of compliance-related incidents or viewer complaints. Assist with training staff on editorial standards, content policies, and compliance requirements. Makes suggestions about policy and workflow improvements. Works independently or as a member of a team. Fluency in target language (written, spoken) and deep knowledge of the target area, plus the ability to adapt stories into English as assigned, within the time assigned. Has specialized knowledge including formal education in a field desired by VOA, regularly demonstrating that added ability through the performance of his/her duties. Logs and conducts data entry and other functions connected with VOA's digital asset management system. Other related duties as assigned.
