About The Position

As a Standardization Inspector, you will support and provide technical analyses and assess effectiveness in numerous program areas. You will evaluate and provide assessment of individual and unit performance in meeting standardization requirements of operations, maintenance, tactics, training, and other core processes. The work involves establishing criteria; assessing program effectiveness; and/or investigating or analyzing a variety of unusual conditions, problems, or questions. The work directly impacts the safety of daily enforcement operations and contributes significantly to the mission and prevention of accidents that could hinder enforcement operations and long-range planning objectives of the program.

Requirements

  • Ten (10) years’ experience in aviation maintenance, supporting military or government operations.
  • Ability to pass a CBP Background Investigation.
  • Possess and maintain current Aircraft and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
  • Knowledge and experience required to provide specialized technical Subject Matter Expertise essential to CBP AMO programs.
  • Ability to work independently, with little direction, to prioritize competing projects while meeting all deadlines.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with aviation maintenance and inventory management systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AMO or DHS aviation desired.
  • Inspection Authorization preferred.
  • Experience with CARMAC

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and provide assessment of individual and unit performance in meeting standardization requirements of operations, maintenance, tactics, training and other core processes.
  • Participate in and support Unit Audits, Staff Assistance Visits, document review and management, evaluation/inspection of Air and Marine Operations Information Technology (IT) support systems, and training curriculum creation.
  • Establish criteria; assess programs effectiveness; and/or investigate or analyze a variety of unusual conditions, problems, or questions.
  • Inspect maintenance man-hour accounting systems.
  • Inspect standing operating procedures.
  • Inspect use and qualification of personnel.
  • Inspect electronic data processing systems.
  • Inspect workplace safety programs.
  • Inspect configuration control programs.
  • Inspect aircraft modification; facilities maintenance, quality management and quality assurance.
  • Inspect compliance with appropriate federal regulations.
  • Inspect Night Vision Goggle maintenance programs.
  • Inspect Ground Support Equipment maintenance.
  • Inspect survival equipment maintenance.
