About The Position

This role involves setting up and operating stamping equipment, primarily presses up to 110 tons. The technician will be capable of running multiple pieces of equipment, either independently or in a cellular arrangement. Advanced training may be required for presses over 110 tons or for operating cells with secondary processes. Responsibilities include performing minor in-die tool component changes, rotating between machines, problem-solving during setup and operation, and assisting colleagues with problem-solving. The position also requires adherence to safety practices, quality standards, and productivity targets, as well as maintaining 5S principles. Training and work direction may be provided to others. Collaboration with management, engineering, and quality technicians on process improvements is expected, along with completing daily routine maintenance and other assigned duties.

Requirements

Inspection tools and equipment
Basic reading, writing, math, organizational, and computer skills
Must pass Mechanical aptitude test
Must hold or pass STRATTEC forklift operator driver’s license

Responsibilities

Sets up and operates assigned equipment up to 110 ton press.
Capable of running multiple pieces of equipment, stand alone or cellular fashion.
Trained and certified on all presses and complex tooling above 110 ton press or operate a cell of machines that includes secondary processes.
Perform minor in-die tool component changes.
Rotate to various assigned machines as required.
Problem solves and makes corrective adjustments during set-up and operation of assigned equipment.
Aides others in problem solving.
Responsible for adhering to best safety practices in performing the job.
Responsible for maintaining all quality requirements and productivity standards.
Responsible for maintaining 5S throughout the department.
Trains and provides work direction to others as required.
Work with management, engineering, and quality technicians on process improvement.
Completes daily routine maintenance as required.
Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
