About The Position

Flex-N-Gate is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry, recently ranked 10th of the 150 Top North American Suppliers in “Automotive News.” A growing and vital company, Flex-N-Gate provides a great opportunity for hard-working and skilled individuals. This position's primary responsibility is to assist the supervisor with the day-to-day operations of the Stamping Department to ensure customer requirements are met while ensuring that all Stamping associates are working together in an effective and cooperative manner to complete job requirements as quickly and completely as possible per work instructions and standard work, and provide a safe and efficient working environment. The position is for the 2nd Shift, Monday - Friday (2pm - 10:30pm).

Requirements

  • Complete and Pass Ventra GR29 LOTO Trainings.
  • Able to perform in a high-paced environment.
  • Must be flexible for change and be able to work well under deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work in cold and hot environments
  • Upper body mobility is required along with the physical requirements of lifting, carrying and pushing/pulling.
  • Must be able to stand 90% of the time.
  • Able to lift / carry / move using one or two hands from 1 lb. to 50 lbs
  • Overtime as required.
  • Must wear required PPE at all time.

  • Previous experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with 200 / 400 / 1000 Presses change over.
  • Stage Die’s / Coils for 3 Presses
  • Help Trouble shoot Jobs if not running correctly
  • Unload Steel Trucks, check steel in and put Steel coil away.
  • Break Relief when needed
  • Enter production Reports Daily.
  • Keep tabs on outgoing scrap.
  • Tag coils with lump labels
  • Must be cross-trained as a competent back up for all jobs within the department.
  • Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels.
  • Ensure all work is performed to work instructions and they meet 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Communicate with shipping and materials department to ensure an adequate supply of required materials, parts, components and packaging is on hand.
  • Return required materials, parts, components, and packaging to designated storage areas at the completion of each production run.
  • Transport finished parts to the next required operation, or the correct storage location.
  • Maintains a positive and cooperative attitude throughout the workday.
  • Communicates issues relating to the assigned job with previous / next shift.
  • Must be able to drive hi-lo and be properly licensed. Operates hi-lo in accordance with safety guidelines considering speed, visibility, and load size.
  • Ensures safety check sheet for equipment is filled out at beginning of shift. Addresses any safety issues with hi-lo before its operation.
  • Performs duties in an environmentally responsible manner. Has awareness of own role and responsibility with respect to the environment.
  • Work with team members / management staff to attain Company goals.
  • Responsible for maintaining 5S standards as they relate to housekeeping in your assigned work area.
  • Maintains compliance to company policies, work rules, safety & housekeeping standards.
  • Follow ISO 14001 and IATF requirements per the standard.
