About The Position

The Stamping B Operator is responsible for operating all stamping equipment and making minor adjustments to maintain safety, quality, and productivity. This role involves reviewing work schedules, setting up and operating stamping presses, performing quality checks, identifying and resolving production issues, and maintaining accurate records. The operator will also communicate with supervisors and team members, participate in process improvements, and adhere to all safety procedures and regulations. Additionally, the position supports the continual improvement and compliance of QMS and EMS, maintains a good attendance record, and performs duties in a manner that supports the company's mission, vision, and values.

Requirements

  • Mechanical Aptitude: A good understanding of machinery and mechanical principles.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly and effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Ability to pay close attention to detail and ensure accuracy and quality in production.
  • Basic math skills for measurement and calculation.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with the supervisor and other team members.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavier objects.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of safety procedures and regulations.
  • Ability to determine the quality of product being produced.
  • Ability to operate a forklift and other machinery in a safe manner.
  • Ability to provide information to the A operator as needed to determine cause of improper parts so adjustments can be made in a minimum of time.
  • Perform Startup and Shutdown procedures: Ensure that they can shut down or startup equipment with good manufacturing practices, operating procedures, and safety procedures.
  • Read and Understand Work Instructions: Ensure that all work instructions are understood before performing the tasks.
  • Troubleshooting: Determine causes of operating errors and find a solution on how to address.
  • Troubleshooting: Determine the root cause of quality issues and determine solutions or steps to fix.
  • Troubleshooting: Determine safety issues as well as safety improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Review work schedules to ensure jobs are started and completed on time.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain the stamping press to produce parts according to specifications, ensuring quality and adhering to safety procedures.
  • Perform quality checks on produced parts to ensure they meet specifications and standards.
  • Identify and resolve minor processing or production issues while maintaining safety, quality, and performance.
  • Load and unload raw materials and finished products while maintaining safety, quality, and rates.
  • Maintain accurate records of production quality, quality issues, job information, machine issues, tooling issues, and safety issues.
  • Communicate with supervisors, process engineer, process technician, and operators about production issues or concerns.
  • Participate in improving production processes and efficiency.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures and regulations, including wearing the appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain proper lubrication of dies and clean machines.
  • Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition using 5S principles to minimize safety hazards and lost-time accidents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Support the continual improvement and compliance of QMS and EMS.
  • Maintain a good attendance record.
