About The Position

The Stamp Press Operator is responsible for breaking presses and assembling parts for sub-assemblies and finished goods. This role requires maintaining customer quality requirements and specifications while continuously improving processes. The operator must promote a safe work environment, work effectively as a team member, and set a good example for others. Accurate completion of paperwork, including scrap and production reporting, is essential. The operator will be responsible for part quality, final inspection, and maintaining quality charts. Familiarity with all press and auxiliary equipment functions is necessary, as is adherence to all safety policies and procedures. Some material handling may be required.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with all Press & Auxiliary Equipment functions.
  • Experience with material handling (pump truck, lift truck - starting or loading of coils).

Responsibilities

  • Break press and assemble parts for sub-assemblies and finished goods.
  • Maintain customer quality requirements and specifications.
  • Continuously improve processes (CIP).
  • Promote, maintain and encourage a safe work environment and good housekeeping by example.
  • Work as a Team Member in all situations.
  • Set a good example for others within the department.
  • Check to ensure that paperwork is complete and accurate.
  • Ensure good communication is kept with Team Leader.
  • Be familiar and clearly understand all Press & Auxiliary Equipment functions.
  • Adhere to all safety Policies and Procedures and report all Safety Hazards or accidents to Team Leader.
  • Responsible for part quality, final inspection.
  • Maintain quality charts as required.
  • Accurately complete all related paperwork.
  • Ensure accurate scrap and production reporting and any other reporting as deemed necessary and approved.
  • Responsible for production related identification i.e. - C.C., WIP, R.M., REJECT SAMPLES.
  • Follow inspection plans, routings, setup sheets, work orders, kan ban system, and quality alerts.
  • Perform material handling as required (i.e. pump truck, lift truck - starting or loading of coils).
  • Report all known errors to the Supervisor.
  • Work in conjunction with DBG’s quality objectives and understand how poor-quality affects DBG, our customers and the end user of our product.
