About The Position

Responsible for planning, directing and coordinating the implementation of the allocation of stalls. Assists Racing Secretary with allocation of stalls. Communicates allocations to trainers and arranges for shipping dates. Places horses in barns and keeps list of locations by trainer. Assists dorm coordinator and racing secretary in assignment of dormitory rooms and assigns tack rooms. Ensures and/or maintains health certificates on all horses shipping into track. Oversees the receiving area to assure all ship-ins have stall space. Maintains lists of all horses shipping in and out to train or race. Provides a stable list of trainers and barn numbers for veterinarians, feed men, agents, vendors, racing commission, stewards or judges. Assists security with problems related to the stable area. Reviews facilities regularly and reports requests for maintenance/repairs to appropriate personnel. Ensures that the responsibilities, authorities and accountability of all direct subordinates are defined and understood. Ensures that all organization activities and operations are carried out in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and laws governing business operations. Orders, receives and is responsible for all shavings, hay and straw in the receiving barns. Provides an inventory to the Racing Secretary at the end of each meet. Supervises all Receiving Barn Attendants. All other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 10 years related experience and/or training; or combination.
  • Must be knowledgeable of the Rules of Racing.
  • Must be able to pass a background check and receive a license or permit from any Regulatory Agency, if applicable to perform the essential job functions
  • Texas Racing Commission License (TXRC)
  • Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to read and communicate verbally in English.
  • Written communication skills in English may also be required.
