About The Position

METTLER TOLEDO is seeking a skilled Stainless Steel TIG Welder for their 2nd shift operations. This role involves preparing weldments from engineering drawings, fabricating sheet metal components, and operating TIG welding equipment. The position requires proficiency in reading blueprints, using various shop tools, and maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of welding symbols, sheet metal fabrication, and lean manufacturing principles.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and able to pass Level 1 Weld Test.
  • Ability to read and understand weld symbols.
  • Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints and engineered drawings.
  • Ability to prioritize and problem solve.
  • Ability to efficiently use hand grinders and air tools while possessing a foundational understanding of polishing techniques to achieve high-quality pre-polished parts.
  • Basic Lean Manufacturing understanding.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to perform duties using imperial and metric measurements.
  • Able to follow written and oral instruction.
  • Ability to work in a high paced environment.
  • Dexterity and hand and eye coordination.
  • Safety awareness (always wear appropriate PPE and maintain a safe workspace while ensuring proper equipment use and fire safety during welding).
  • Ability to safely lift 50 lbs. and work in multiple positions (i.e. stand, sit, lay, squat, bend, kneel) for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to work overtime.

Nice To Haves

  • Press brake and sheet metal experience required.
  • Weld Certificate or hands-on experience preferred.
  • ERP system experience (SAP Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Prep work weldments from engineering drawings utilizing band saws, drill press, hand grinders, and TIG welding stainless steel.
  • Assemble weldments from drawings.
  • Fabricate sheet metal bins, enclosures, and covers.
  • Operation, setup, and maintenance of a TIG welder.
  • Operate drill press and band saw.
  • Utilize hand grinders/sanders to perform grain finishing.
  • Control raw material inventory utilizing shop routers and computer.
  • Cut raw material per engineering drawings.
  • Group required parts prescribed in BOM.
  • Weld and setup sub-assemblies for welders.
  • Follow SOP and OPLs.
