About The Position

Step onto our Sacramento, CA production floor and into a day where precision welding, fitting, and assembly bring stainless-steel car bodies to life. As a Fitter/Welder I, you’ll contribute directly to building the best passenger rail vehicles in the world in a dynamic, high-energy environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 3–5 years of MIG experience focused on stainless steel; or graduation from an accredited welding program plus 2 years of MIG experience.
  • Solid mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic English proficiency for reading instructions and effective verbal communication.

Nice To Haves

  • AWS certification in stainless GMAW 3G (vertical up) and 4F (overhead).
  • Working knowledge of GTAW/TIG.

Responsibilities

  • Weld, fit, tack, and assemble stainless-steel passenger rail car bodies and subassemblies using drawings, jigs, fixtures, and advanced welding equipment.
  • Meet welding codes, engineering specifications, dimensional tolerances, and quality standards across every weld and assembly.
  • Identify, inspect, and repair fabrication defects while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship.
  • Operate welding, hand, and power tools safely; follow all PPE and safety procedures; keep your area clean and compliant.
  • Complete work orders and quality documentation, record labor hours, and reliably meet schedules, productivity goals, and budget targets with minimal supervision.
