About The Position

The Stage Manager will be responsible for running audition calls, constructing and maintaining the Stage Managers Production Manual, attending rehearsals and tech rehearsals, managing backstage and dressing rooms, calling all performances, documenting performances, directing backstage needs, and directing strike activities. This is a part-time, as-needed position.

Requirements

  • Certificated Staff
  • Ability to run audition calls, ensuring slots are met on time and that auditionees are moved through the process with information and direction
  • Ability to construct and maintain Stage Managers Production Manual
  • Ability to attend rehearsals, taking blocking, props and designer notes, and making schedule adjustments as needed
  • Ability to call times and breaks as needed
  • Ability to communicate rehearsal notes to the production team through rehearsal reports
  • Ability to run rehearsals in absence of Director, according to the guidelines and artistic vision set forth by the Director
  • Ability to attend all tech rehearsals
  • Ability to set the stage for rehearsal, ensuring the backstage area is conducive to rehearsal safety, and ensuring all working props are available and placed properly
  • Ability to call all tech rehearsals: starts, breaks, holds, ends
  • Ability to manage backstage and dressing rooms for all tech rehearsal and performances
  • Ability to call all performances: Curtain Up, Light cues, sound cues: visual cues, set changes, Curtain down
  • Ability to document performances with performance reports, to be kept in Production Manual
  • Ability to direct all backstage needs during tech rehearsal and performances via headset, designated personnel, and staff support
  • Ability to direct strike activities
  • Ability to strike booth and backstage of all show materials and gear post-run
