About The Position

This role provides practical and organizational support to directors, actors, designers, stage crew, and technicians throughout the production process. The Stage Manager represents directors during performances, ensuring productions run smoothly by supervising show quality. This position involves scheduling and running rehearsals, calling cues, and coordinating the work of technical crews.

Requirements

  • Associates degree in Stage Management (bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts preferred)
  • 2 - 4 years professional experience
  • Trained and experienced in working with directors, actors, and technical crews during the rehearsing and running of theatrical productions.
  • Ability to display calmness under pressure.
  • Demonstrate confidence and decision making ability.
  • Have an ability to multi-task and 'think on your feet'.
  • Display patience and tact.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, stage drawings, lighting and stage plots.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Ability to pass a background check, if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, DMV, previous employment, education and personal references, per Company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise cast and Associates during load-in, rehearsal, and run of theatre productions and special events.
  • Maintain operational safety, efficiency, show quality, and Associate compliance.
  • Provide directions, support, proper training, and participate in carrying out work required to execute all entertainment shows, events, and facility maintenance.
  • Assure technical performance standards, SOPs, and proper policy and procedures are being exhibited and enforce them when they are not.
  • Interact with company manager on all stage shows to ensure show content is always performed at the expected performance levels.
  • Provide Associate job performance feedback, counseling, and low-level discipline as needed.
  • Ensure Associate timekeeping standards are maintained on a daily basis.
  • Communicate Department status to Supervisor on an ongoing basis, including operational issues, Associate concerns, guest complaints, special requests, losses, and any other unusual situation in order to maintain smooth operations.
  • Provide guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions, and giving directions.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and perform all duties in compliance with Six Flags Safety guidelines and requirements and report all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision.
  • Meet scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and holiday periods to meet business needs.
  • Meet Six Flags' attendance requirements as outlined in Six Flags' attendance policies.
  • Adhere to Six Flags' Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
