About The Position

Akima Infrastructure Services, LLC (AIS) is seeking Engineering, Professional, Technical, and administrative support personnel to join their staff augmentation team, supporting the Department of Energy at the Y-12 National Security Complex located at the Pantex Plant in Amarillo, Texas. Successful candidates will be employees of AIS, a government contractor, and will contribute to Y-12's mission of ensuring a safe, secure, and reliable U.S. nuclear deterrent. While employed by AIS, day-to-day direction will come from Y-12 staff. AIS provides pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions. This position is a Staffing Senior Assistant role, primarily assisting with the management of the hiring process, including coordinating interviews, scheduling candidate travel, and managing the onboarding process. The role also supports the Talent Acquisition Team with requisition and candidate tracking, new employee orientation, and candidate relationship management. It involves general personnel/clerical tasks, potentially supporting employee records, benefits, staffing, and compensation. A key responsibility is maintaining accurate employee data in the applicant tracking system (Success Factors) and SAP, as well as official HR records. The successful candidate will interact with individuals at all organizational levels and external entities, providing high-level customer service. The position also involves assisting in auditing current HR policies, procedures, practices, forms, reports, and records, documenting actions, coordinating administrative activities within HR departments, and assisting in preparing manuals and internal operating procedures. The role requires maintaining thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, Department of Energy (DOE), Corporate, and Plant rules, regulations, and procedures. It demands working in a fast-paced environment with flexibility, adaptability, high organization, and attention to detail.

Requirements

  • US citizen
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with flexibility and adaptability
  • Function in a highly organized manner with attention to detail
  • General knowledge and understanding of Human Resources policies and procedures, with the ability to interpret and apply them effectively
  • Experience working in Human Resources, with exposure to recruiting and onboarding
  • Strong organizational and electronic document management skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • High attention to detail and documentation accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Excellent customer service skills for interacting with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proficiency in completing detailed tasks and maintaining high levels of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in operating computer-related equipment and associated software, particularly Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of scheduling & communication tools such as WebEx, SharePoint, and Teams
  • Experience utilizing Success Factors applicant tracking system and SAP
  • Live within commuting distance from Amarillo, TX
  • High School Diploma and 6 years experience required
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy (if determined as such)
  • Participation in an ongoing random drug testing program (if WSAP designated)
  • Successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test
  • Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position

  • Coordinates the administrative activities of departments within HR to accomplish the organization's mission
  • Assists in the preparation of manuals and internal operating procedures covering the administration of area of responsibility
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of applicable Federal, State, Department of Energy (DOE), Corporate and Plant rules, regulations and procedures
