This position will provide consistent staffing schedules for all nursing units to ensure safe patient-to-staff ratios. The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for inputting and developing staffing schedules for nursing departments, ensuring that departments have the necessary staff scheduled to work to maintain the safety of both patients and employees. Administrative Policy 33 (Attendance: Scheduling Rules and Procedures) will serve as a guide to ensure staffing effectiveness is maintained. Under the guidance and direction of the Chief Nurse Executive, this role performs staffing, scheduling, replacement staffing, record maintenance, filing, and attendance tracking. The position requires knowledge of office practices and procedures, the ability to perform a variety of complex duties, and excellent communication skills with all staff. Strong data entry, typing, and clerical skills are essential, as are excellent interpersonal and communication skills and boundaries. Experience using MS Office Suite is required. Experience in automated data systems, handling confidential and sensitive matters, and working independently in a fast-paced, highly stressful environment requiring precision and detailed work is preferred. The ability to organize and work under pressure while balancing multiple priorities is also necessary.
