About The Position

This role is responsible for managing staff scheduling and attendance within a healthcare department, ensuring adherence to the staffing plan and compliance with relevant policies and regulations. The Staffing Coordinator plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate timekeeping systems, preparing timecards for payroll, and managing PRN employee utilization. Additionally, the position involves upholding resident rights, safety, and confidentiality, and contributing to a person-centered care environment.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Oracle scheduling and Time and Attendance systems.
  • Ability to track attendance and maintain accurate records.
  • Understanding of payroll processing requirements.
  • Knowledge of PRN employee scheduling and contact procedures.
  • Awareness of resident rights, confidentiality, and person-centered care principles.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, including fire, smoking, and equipment policies.
  • Ability to report and document resident incidents, complaints, and changes in condition.
  • Skill in maintaining and updating daily staffing reports.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with department directors and supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Oracle scheduling of staff working hours within the healthcare department according to the staffing plan of the community.
  • Receives and documents departmental employee call-on and consults with department directors to determine adjustments to schedules as needed to meet staffing requirements.
  • Tracks attendance for the department and maintains the Oracle Time and Attendance system by reviewing for missing punches, data entry and needed documentations.
  • Monitors work hours and notifies department directors of employee's overtime.
  • Prepares electronic department timecards for payroll processing.
  • Complies, maintains, and updates daily staffing report and posts as required.
  • Maintains a list of current PRN employees. Applies the use of PRN employees on a rotating's schedule and tracks attempt to contact.
  • Advances the value that residents come first by reporting accidents, incidents, resident complaints and changes in residents' condition to the supervisor.
  • Follows established safety regulations. Adheres to fire, smoking, equipment and safety policies and procedures.
  • Protect the residents and PMMA by not disclosing or using resident health information for an y purpose other than treatment for the residents, payment and operations.
  • Immediately notifies supervisor if a resident is leaving/missing from the community.
  • Values and respects the choices and preference of residents and works to create attributes of home, with emphasis on person centered care.
  • Upholds resident rights and confidentiality. Creates and supports a physical environment which is accessible and supports privacy, independence and comfort.
  • All other duties as assigned.
