About The Position

We are SLR Consulting (US), a 500+ coast-to-coast team of advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. We are Making Sustainability Happen. As our new Staff Transportation Planner / Engineer, you would be an important part of our Community and Mobility Planning (CAMP) team. Role This role is responsible for the preparation of draft transportation planning and traffic engineering studies and reports, as well as supporting the preparation of design plans. Projects include private development/traffic impact studies, public-sector mobility planning work, as well as our safe streets, active transportation, parking management, TDM, and smart growth studies. This position is located in New Haven, Connecticut. Hybrid arrangements could be allowed for up to 2 days per week. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation Engineering or Planning, or related field
  • EIT or similar certification, or ability to obtain in 1-2 years
  • The desire and ability to research, present and convey information clearly and concisely
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Critical thinker with strong communication skills
  • Efficient, thorough, detail-oriented, and dedicated to quality work
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with HCS, SYNCHRO/SimTraffic, VISSIM, CADD, GIS software is desirable
  • Some familiarity with emerging best practices in transportation
  • Some familiarity with local, state, and federal guidelines/standards and policies is desirable
