Staff Technical Program Manager, Cloud Availability

Crusoe•San Francisco, CA
•$200,000 - $240,000

About The Position

Crusoe is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager to own program execution for cloud availability, including maintenance windows, host patching, network switch upgrades, and incident management for customer-facing GPU infrastructure. The role supports an engineering team responsible for system uptime and infrastructure SLAs that has not historically worked with a TPM function. The successful candidate will establish credibility through technical depth and rigorous execution, rather than process alone. This hands-on individual-contributor role plans and executes maintenance windows while balancing customer disruption against critical hardware and firmware updates. It also coordinates cross-functional responses to major incidents, supports switch upgrades and migrations, identifies technical risks, and creates lightweight frameworks for operationally complex availability programs. The TPM works directly with engineering, hardware and network vendors, and Customer Success, and actively uses AI tools in daily program execution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 to 5+ years of experience as a Technical Program Manager, with direct exposure to cloud infrastructure, availability, or operations environments.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance window planning, host patching, and hardware/firmware update cycles for high-availability systems.
  • Experience with incident management practices, including cross-functional incident coordination, post-incident reviews, and remediation tracking against SLA commitments.
  • Familiarity with network switch upgrade or migration planning, including identifying and tracking critical dependencies.
  • Ability to build basic, lightweight program processes for well-defined initiatives and judge when to escalate versus solve directly.
  • Active use of AI tools in program management work, such as risk detection, status reporting, or dependency mapping, with concrete examples.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for incident response coordination and status reporting across technical and customer-facing stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in GPU or accelerated-computing cloud infrastructure environments.
  • Prior experience partnering with Customer Success or customer-facing teams during infrastructure upgrades.
  • Exposure to designing incident management or maintenance window frameworks from scratch.
  • Experience navigating pushback from senior technical leaders without formal authority.

Responsibilities

  • Own the planning and execution of maintenance windows and production changes for high-availability cloud infrastructure, balancing minimal customer workload disruption with host patching and hardware updates.
  • Coordinate cross-functional responses to major incidents and unplanned outages; drive communications, lead post-incident reviews, and track remediation items through closure while protecting SLA commitments.
  • Support planning for major network switch upgrades and migrations, tracking critical dependencies and identifying potential points of failure.
  • Identify technical risks in cloud availability programs and determine when to resolve issues directly or escalate them.
  • Coordinate with hardware and network vendors and Customer Success on high-stakes infrastructure upgrades, keeping customer-facing teams informed.
  • Build lightweight, fit-for-purpose execution frameworks for availability and reliability programs, such as firmware update campaigns.
  • Use AI tools to improve risk identification, dependency tracking, and status communication in daily program work.
  • Build trust with engineering through technical fluency in maintenance workflows and incident processes.
