About The Position

Reddit is seeking an experienced Technical Program Manager to join their Ads TPM team within the Tech PMO (Technical Program Management Office). This role will support the Ads Product & Engineering organization. The TPM will lead cross-functional initiatives spanning multiple technical teams, owning and driving technical programs in the Ads Monetization engineering space. This will involve cross-functional collaboration with multiple engineering teams at Reddit and partnering with engineering leaders to evaluate prioritization, tradeoffs, and risks. The Technical Program Management Office (Tech PMO) aims to accelerate, scale, and empower all teams at Reddit to achieve their best work and advance the company's mission. Operating within the office of the CTO, the Tech PMO galvanizes and drives technical programs and solutions for company-wide problems, promoting operational excellence across partnered organizations and the entire company. Technical Program Managers at Reddit utilize technical judgment to define and drive large programs across multiple engineering teams, acting as partners to engineering leaders in project discussions, planning, and execution. They engage with engineering staff to determine root causes, identify alternative solutions, and understand the effects, impacts, and risks of proposed solutions. Beyond program-level impact, they establish execution processes and reduce inefficiencies to build overall scale.

Requirements

8+ years of collective experience in engineering and program management roles
At least 4 years focused on digital ads platforms or ads monetization.
Strong communication and influencing skills.
A team player mentality with the ability to work collaboratively across all levels of the organization.
Proactive and curious by nature.
Creative and enjoy taking unique approaches to solve problems.
Pragmatic; take an iterative approach to developing processes and systems.
Technical depth and judgment.
Analytical problem-solving experience with large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

Drive cross-functional initiatives that span multiple technical teams.
Own and drive technical programs in the Ads Monetization engineering space.
Partner with engineering leaders across the company to evaluate prioritization, tradeoffs and risks related to the programs you own.
Get projects to completion and deliver real accomplishments for the business.
Help teams understand the difference between activity and accomplishment.
Dive into the details of projects and guide teams with and in active partnership with them.
Act as a partner with teams in planning and decision-making using technical judgment.
Create and improve processes that smooth the path for others and prevent and remove recurring organizational toil.
Reuse processes developed elsewhere and aid in the adoption of standards where relevant.
Informally aid others in developing key organizational and project skills.
Act as a leader within projects and support people in the process.
Leave a program and the teams supported in a position of stronger organization than where they started, ensuring continued success even after specific project engagement.
