About The Position

Scout Motors is bringing back an iconic American vehicle brand, electrifying and digitizing it with American innovation. We are seeking a highly experienced, motivated Product Lead with the skills, desire, and agency to make an impact from day one. This high-visibility, strategic, and technical role bridges engineering, product management, design, and business strategy. You will help design, build, and launch the digital “front doors” to Scout—spanning mobile, web, and retail touchpoints. Outstanding design instincts, technical fluency, and meticulous attention to detail are essential. This role will focus on our web and mobile e-commerce experiences, specifically our web-based vehicle configurator and mobile checkout experience, as every dollar of revenue Scout generates will transact through these products.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience, with a strong emphasis on consumer facing digital products.
  • Deep e-commerce experience, including the delivery of world-class digital shopping experiences live in market today
  • Demonstrated success in building and launching complex digital experiences enjoyed by millions —or billions — of people around the world.
  • Deep analytics expertise; the ability to look at data and understand how to act immediately
  • Clear sense of what good software looks like.
  • Strong understanding of system architecture, APIs, and cloud technologies.
  • Experience with enterprise-level systems such as CRM, ERP, or service management platforms.
  • Deep experience handling privacy and security requirements
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills to influence and align diverse stakeholders.
  • Data-driven decision-making abilities and experience with tools for analytics and performance measurement.
  • Product management basics; Jira for scrum, Confluence for PRDs, Figma for design and prototyping, etc.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field, though demonstrated experience in building real-world products is far more critical.

Nice To Haves

  • Automotive experience, specifically with DTC brands, is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Define and lead product strategy: Develop the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for key verticals inside Scout's consumer facing digital product suite. Specifically, you will help design, build, and ship Scout’s first vehicle configurator and checkout experience. You will support our direct-to-consumer sales and delivery model with world-class digital UX, ensuring alignment with overarching business goals.
  • Be extremely comfortable navigating ambiguity in early-stage startups to formulate concrete, actionable plans.
  • Act as a customer advocate, crafting experiences that enhance the vehicle buying process and differentiate Scout in the marketplace. Be disagreeable and don't accept anything less than a class-defining experience for customers.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams, including Design, R&D, software engineering, and operations, to design and deliver innovative digital products. Be ready to drive alignment with many competing stakeholders.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to internal and external partners, presenting solutions that align with broader business goals. Be a natural relationship builder and clear communicator.
  • Oversee the roll-out of technical solutions to the marketplace, ensuring performance, reliability and consumer adoption achieve agreed upon outcomes.
  • Build relationships with software engineering to ensure scalable, efficient, and secure delivery. Leverage expertise in system architecture, APIs, and data integration to support technical decisions.
  • Define KPIs and success metrics to track product and platform performance, using data to refine and improve over time.
