About The Position

Solid Rock Recruiting is partnering with a well-established Milwaukee public accounting firm to identify a Staff Tax Accountant looking to build their career in an environment that offers strong mentorship, direct exposure to experienced professionals, and long-term growth opportunities. You'll work directly with experienced tax professionals and gain experience across businesses, individuals, trusts, estates, tax planning, financial statements, and client advisory work.

Requirements

1–3 years of tax accounting experience
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting/Accountancy
CPA license, CPA candidate, or eligibility to sit for the CPA exam
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work effectively with clients and internal team members
Desire to continue developing technically and professionally
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Adobe Acrobat

Responsibilities

Prepare federal and state tax returns for businesses, individuals, trusts, and estates
Assist with tax projections and planning
Research and respond to federal and state tax notices
Assist with compiled and reviewed financial statements for privately held businesses
Develop your technical tax and accounting knowledge
Work directly with experienced managers, supervisors, and partners
Participate in professional development, recruiting, and community activities
Build the foundation for increasing client responsibility as your experience grows
