Opportunity Overview We have an immediate opening for a Staff Tax Accountant to join our team at US Fertility in Rockville, Maryland. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM Compensation: $80,000 to $85,000 per year (commensurate with experience) This role provides the opportunity to grow within a nationally respected organization while remaining closely connected to the patients and teams you support every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2 years of experience in tax, public accounting, or related field
  • Knowledge of indirect taxes – business licenses, personal property tax and sales and use tax
  • Knowledge of US federal and state income tax regulations for partnerships and corporations
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to work effectively on a team as well as independently to meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented and highly organized
  • Eagerness to learn and grow within the tax field
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
  • Desire to develop analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Apply a foundational understanding of business entity structures, including partnerships and corporations, to support income tax processes
  • Assist in analyzing financial data to calculate tax adjustments and determine state apportionment
  • Support the preparation and analysis of estimated federal and state income tax payments
  • Conduct research on federal and state income tax regulations and interpret findings for application
  • Review and analyze federal and state tax notices, document findings, and follow up with tax authorities as needed
  • Prepare and file monthly, quarterly, and annual sales and use tax returns across multiple jurisdictions
  • Manage the filing and payment process for annual business licenses
  • Collect and organize fixed asset data, maintain supporting workpapers, and prepare personal property tax filings and payments
  • Track tax filings and maintain accurate, organized documentation within SharePoint
  • Collaborate with Accounting and cross-functional teams to gather tax-related data and ensure accuracy
  • Communicate tax payment details clearly and timely to Treasury and Accounting teams
  • Provide basic tax support for business transactions and special projects as needed
