Staff Systems Engineer

Moog•Buffalo, NY

About The Position

The Advanced Technology and Engineering Programs (ATEP) team of Moog Space and Defense Group’s Defense sector is looking for a Staff Systems Engineer to work on its efforts in maturing technologies in the autonomous undersea/surface domain. This exciting opportunity will involve the selection, design and build of all the systems for this vehicle. It will also involve in-water testing of vehicles and will occasionally require travel to perform vehicle testing. ATEP’s focus is to accelerate innovation and develop the next generation of capabilities by pursuing the development of new products and taking them to TRL 5/6. Following that they are transitioned into business units to be matured and scaled. ATEP has a fail-fast culture, building prototype products to develop/test new capabilities. The focus is on getting hardware into live test scenarios rather than dotting i’s and crossing t’s. The Staff Systems Engineer is initially responsible for leading the definition, design and development of the propulsion and fin CAS systems as well as integration into the energy, control and ancillary systems. As the products evolve this will grow into future systems that could include mission planning and autonomy and control.
