About The Position

We seek a Staff Systems Engineer based out of our office at 3800 Automation Avenue, Auburn Hills, MI 48326. Note, this is a hybrid position whereby the employee will work both from home and from the aforementioned office address. Hence, the employee must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the aforementioned office address. Note, this position does not require travel. Responsibilities include the following: develop Hybrid/Electric Onboard Charger and DC/DC Converter systems; ensure accuracy of requirements, configuration management, and all stakeholder alignment; analyze and manage requirements using standardized tools and ensure requirements traceability; decompose system requirements to functional blocks; manage the customer compliance matrix; track requirements progress metrics to ensure progress to the project timeline; work closely with system, software architects, electrical, mechanical, functional safety, and test engineers to ensure reliable product delivery; freeze and release the requirement baselines for each system release; develop system architecture along with electrical and software developers; ensure functional safety requirements are met according to ISO 26262; ensure ASPICE development process is followed; support product development in compliance with design for manufacturing (DFM); design product and components to meet customer specifications; interface with customer as needed; develop and maintain product project schedule; provide written and oral presentations as needed; follow a structured problem-solving approach to resolve issues; other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, or Software Engineering and 96 months of experience in job offered or related position in automotive power electronics product development
  • Experience with high voltage electronics (400V/800V)
  • Experience with power electronics thermal management, packaging, including liquid cooling plates, busbars, and PCBs
  • Experience using requirements analysis tools (Polarion, D00Rs, or equivalent)
  • Experience using problem solving processes, including 8D, fishbone, and 5-Why
  • Experience developing technical presentations to internal and external customers
  • Experience using agile method tools (e.g. JIRA)
  • Experience with software development process
  • Experience with thermal management for power electronics

Responsibilities
