Our domain provides rewarding work that contributes to the latest advancements being made in the aerospace and Department of Defense industry. The position is located on-site in Boulder, CO. Boulder is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, and only 25 miles from downtown Denver. Position Overview: The selected Staff Systems Engineer – Level 5 will serve as the infrastructure lead for the BOA/ESL/ESPN program, responsible for coordinating all infrastructure elements required for the software-centric systems to operate. This role includes leading the hardware team and partnering closely with system administration, network, cybersecurity, software, and integration and test teams to ensure a robust, reliable infrastructure is in place.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline from an accredited university and 12 years of related experience; a Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline and 10 years of related experience; or a PhD with 8 years of related experience.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Designs new or modifies existing products, develops technical specifications for production, analyzes hardware configuration and processing solutions, and tests hardware conformance to specifications. Responsible for research and/or product development in more than one engineering discipline.
Proven experience applying engineering and design practices to software architectures, software environments, or agile software frameworks.
Applicants must possess an active in-scope U.S. Government issued Secret (or higher) clearance at the time of application and is required to start. With a background investigation completed within the last 6 years or current enrollment in Continuous Evaluation (CE).

Nice To Haves

Maintains technical expertise in all areas of network and computer hardware and software interconnection and interfacing, such as routers, multiplexers, firewalls, hubs, bridges, gateways, etc. Experience with Cisco and Fortinet.
Experienced Linux (Red Hat), VMWare, RSA multifactor authentication, Splunk, ELK, IPA, Ansible and NetApp storage.
Expertise documenting complex system interactions via Interface Control Documents (ICDs), Interface Requirement Specifications (IRS), and Interface Description Documents (IDD).
Applied knowledge of Next-Generation Overhead Persistent Infrared Radar (NG-OPIR) or similar space/ground segment defense systems.
Responsible for planning, executing, and controlling the work and budget within a defined segment of a project.
Exceptional communication skills with a track record of presenting technical concepts to senior management, cross-functional teams, and customer communities.

Responsibilities

Hardware development and sustainment and CAM of program material.
Guide teams through product implementation and integrations.
Lead technical planning, support design reviews, and manage tools to communicate and track action items internally and with customers.
Collaborate with Integrated Product Team (IPT) counterparts, technical teams, and stakeholders to mature systems architecture content for large program designs.
Conduct pre-review assessments to ensure system readiness prior to formal design reviews.
Work on large, interdisciplinary teams.
Coach and mentor engineering team members in architecture and design development while fostering strong technical networks.
Demonstrate proposal, budget & scheduling proficiency, as well as business acumen.
Lead Product Deliveries.
Site Surveys and installations, cable management, power and cooling, and overall system infrastructure documentation.
Mentor and build technical networks.
