As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. Requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Master's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum three (3) years of experience in a directly related field OR Bachelor's degree in Math, Science, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field AND minimum five (5) years of experience in a directly related field OR Minimum eight (8) years of directly related experience
  • Expertise in one or more general development languages (e.g., Java, C#, C++)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with AI frameworks, LLMs, or generative AI (Claude, GPT, LangChain, etc.)
  • Knowledge of AI-powered development tools or building AI-enabled applications
  • Experience applying AI to engineering challenges or customer-facing features
  • Understanding of commercial payments, money movement, B2B payables, or payment processing
  • Experience with cloud platforms, microservices, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Knowledge of API design, integration patterns, and distributed systems
  • Familiarity with observability, monitoring, or DevOps practices
  • A growth mindset that is curious and passionate about technologies and enjoys challenging projects on a global scale
  • Comfort in pushing the boundaries, ‘hacking’ beyond traditional solutions
  • Familiarity with agentic AI, LLMs, AI frameworks, or machine learning applications
  • Experience building and deploying modern services and web applications with quality and scalability
  • Constant drive to learn new technologies such as Angular, React, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.
  • Experience collaborating with Product, Test, Dev-ops, and Agile/Scrum teams

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain AI-powered platforms, tools, and services that solve engineering productivity and customer challenges
  • Implement solutions leveraging agentic AI, LLMs, and machine learning to automate workflows and improve software quality
  • Create APIs, integrations, and platform capabilities that enable AI features across CMS products
  • Develop scalable services that integrate AI into commercial payment and money movement systems for B2B, B2C, P2P, and G2C use cases
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to identify opportunities for AI integration and drive adoption
  • Participate in experimentation with new AI technologies and contribute to technical standards
  • Work on both internal engineering tools and customer-facing AI features
  • Works with product owners to gather and refine requirements across CMS products, considering existing tools and solutions
  • Develops and designs moderately advanced solutions that are robust, scalable, and integrate AI capabilities with Visa's technical ecosystem
  • Provides domain expertise on AI/ML technologies and their application to engineering and customer problems
  • Plays a significant role in the development and delivery of new features within products from end-to-end
  • Contributes to technical decision-making for AI adoption and standards
