Staff Staking Infrastructure Engineer
About The Position
Purpose is building the infrastructure layer that underpins its staking and crypto-native products — and we need the rare engineer who can architect it, own its security posture, and govern the AI tools that run alongside it. This is not a maintenance role. It is a build role, with full accountability for what you create. AI handles the routine execution layer in this role: pipeline monitoring, log aggregation, standard alerting, repetitive Terraform provisioning, and scripted automation. What AI cannot do is design staking infrastructure architecture where errors carry direct financial consequences, take accountability for a regulated crypto platform's security posture, make judgment calls at the colo-to-cloud boundary, or translate infrastructure risk into business language for senior stakeholders. That is what this role exists to do.
Requirements
- 5+ years in DevOps or cloud engineering with direct production ownership — not just contribution
- Hands-on physical server and colo experience, or a specific and credible plan to develop it fast
- Strong Terraform skills and infrastructure design patterns you can defend under scrutiny
- A security-first engineering disposition — controls in the pipeline and the architecture as design choices, not afterthoughts

Responsibilities
- Own the full infrastructure lifecycle for staking services — from architecture design through security governance to production resilience
- Formalize Purpose's security posture for the staking platform: threat modelling, control framework, and remediation roadmap with executive accountability
- Rebuild the CI/CD pipeline with secrets hygiene, dependency scanning, and automated rollback as native capabilities — and integrate AI-native tooling where it reduces toil without adding risk
- Evaluate, govern, and set autonomy thresholds for AI-native infrastructure and observability tools used in production
