About The Position

Fortinet is hiring a Staff Software QA Engineer for its FortiSwitch Team. The role involves designing and executing software tests, maintaining automated test scripts, investigating and tracking defects, and helping diagnose and resolve customer issues. The engineer works closely with developers and other QA staff and contributes to team knowledge through documentation and training.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience related to testing or automation.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies, especially Layers 2, 3, and 4, including VLAN, VXLAN, STP, LACP, QoS, NetFlow, sFlow, ACL, DHCP, IGMP, ARP, VRF, PBR, ISIS, RIP, BGP, BGP-EVPN, PIM, HA redundancy, TCP, UDP, HTTP, and network system testing.
• Knowledge of security firewalls, such as firewall policies and IPsec tunnels.
• Knowledge of Voice over IP.
• Proficiency using Windows, Linux, or Unix systems for daily work.
• Experience developing with a scripting language such as Python, Java, or Perl.
• Experience using Spirent or Ixia traffic generators.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

• GUI testing experience.
• Knowledge of virtualization and cloud environments.
• Experience with Voice over IP testing.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute test plans based on functional specifications.
• Execute functional, system, scaling, throughput, stress, and soak tests across the system.
• Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through resolution.
• Develop and maintain automated test scripts to validate product features across a variety of test cases.
• Assist with diagnosis, reproduction, and resolution of customer issues.
• Participate in live troubleshooting sessions with customers.
• Work with software developers and QA colleagues to ensure defects are correctly identified, reproduced, and fixed.
• Create documentation and training to transfer knowledge within the team.
