About The Position

This position will lead a team of highly skilled software engineers, providing technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to drive the successful delivery of complex software projects. The individual will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product managers, technical program managers, and stakeholders, to define technical strategies, set priorities, and ensure the team's adherence to engineering best practices. This position will require a strong technical background, excellent leadership skills, and a track record of building and scaling high-performing engineering teams.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a technical leadership or management role, leading and managing software engineering teams.
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, motivate, and develop a high-performing team.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to set priorities, manage resources, and drive the successful execution and delivery of projects.
  • Significant professional experience as a software engineer, with a track record of delivering complex software projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in one or more programming languages and technology stacks, such as Rust, C++, Python, or others
  • Great troubleshooting skills and ability to work under pressure
  • Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to navigate complex technical challenges and make sound decisions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and continuous improvement.
  • In-depth understanding of software development methodologies, engineering best practices, and architectural patterns.
  • Strategic thinking and the ability to align technical initiatives with business goals.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and drive effective solutions.
  • Passion for technology, innovation, and continuous learning.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of software engineers.
  • Set technical direction, define best practices, and ensure the team's adherence to coding standards, architectural guidelines, and engineering processes.
  • Build and lead a high-performing engineering team, including hiring, onboarding, mentoring, and professional development.
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and stakeholders to define project goals, scope, and timelines.
  • Drive the successful execution and delivery of complex software projects, balancing technical excellence, business objectives, and resource allocation.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, understand business needs, and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Foster effective collaboration and communication within the team and with external teams.
  • Analyze complex technical problems and propose innovative solutions.
  • Provide guidance and support to the team in overcoming technical challenges and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Engage with stakeholders, including senior leaders and executives, to provide project updates, manage expectations, and ensure alignment on technical strategies and priorities.
  • Nurture and develop engineering talent through mentorship, coaching, and career development conversations.
  • Provide opportunities for growth and advancement, and support the professional aspirations of team members.
  • Advocate for and enforce engineering best practices, including code reviews, testing strategies, and continuous integration.
  • Drive a culture of quality and ensure the delivery of high-quality, reliable software solutions.
  • Perform other related duties or specialized areas as assigned.
  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the team
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations.
  • May assists in handling discipline of employees in accordance with company policy.
