Staff Software Engineer
About The Position
Building36 is looking for a versatile Staff Software Engineer to lead their team in the smart home technology, video analytics, and large-scale data processing domains. This role offers the opportunity to work across various technology domains and own projects from design to deployment. The company is seeking individuals excited to mentor and collaborate with more junior engineers, who can own projects and potentially teams, communicate effectively, and blend multiple business needs. Requirements
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience
- 10+ years of professional software development experience
- Experience leading and/or mentoring other engineers
- Expert object-oriented programming skills; C# and .NET a plus
- Significant database design and development experience
- Knowledge of networking concepts, principles, and technologies
- Experience working with hardware and device development a major plus
- Sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position at this time.
Responsibilities
- Be a mentor to our growing engineering department.
- Develop full stack software for a wide variety of platforms and technologies.
- Engage in the research, evaluation, and application of new technologies and methodologies to solve challenging problems.
- Take part in the entire project life cycle, from requirements development to deployment.
- Work hard and be flexible: we have quick development cycles, evolving requirements, and lots of cross-team collaboration.
- Exercise good judgment. Know when to work quickly, and when to build a robust solution.
- Consider many use cases when developing, as your work will be used by multiple business units.
- Bring your ideas! We want our engineers to collaborate on product development.
